Indianapolis Colts Injury Report: Colts Announce Two Important Players Downgraded For Week 6
The Commanders held off the Bears to start Week 6 of the NFL, and now we have a full Sunday slate to look forward to with plenty of exciting matchups. The Cowboys and Eagles’ matchup in Philadelphia and the Chiefs and Bills’ battle at Arrowhead might very well serve as preludes to the conference finals. Just the top of the iceberg, really. Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines won’t play for the Indianapolis Colts in Sunday’s crucial AFC South matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team confirmed on Saturday.

Despite JT having two consecutive reduced practice sessions on Thursday and Friday, the choice was made. On the Colts’ final injury report, Taylor was initially classified as doubtful.

Indianapolis Colts downgrade two RBs for week 6
The NFL’s running champion from a year ago, Taylor, will miss his second consecutive game due to an injured ankle. In his first two seasons, he had only missed one game, and that was because of the COVID-19 epidemic, for which he was regarded as a close contact.

“What we’re looking for is consistency in performance. We think Deon can provide that if needed,” coach Frank Reich said.
“We feel like Deon took a major step [against Denver]. I don’t think he surprised us. I think we felt he’s had that in him.”
After sustaining a terrifying concussion in Week 5, backup running back Nyheim Hines has also been declared ineligible. The Colts’ rushing offense has been severely hampered by the absence of these two running backs.
Indy has suffered four straight defeats to the Jaguars (2-3), including a 24-0 loss in Week 2. The Colts are 0-2-1 versus opponents from the AFC South yet behind Tennessee (3-2) in the division race by a half-game.
